Nice post. I think the absolute take over of development will come once future iterations of AI learn to create its own programming language that is so abstracted from what is humanly readable/manageable. Then once its stable, it will be able to do just program for us in w/e crazy language it makes up haha
That's an interesting idea. I wonder if language models are sort of bound to the limitations of human language, or if they're capable of surpassing it in the first place. If not, perhaps it will take future evolutions to get to where you're describing, but it's certainly possible.
